ABOUT

Rochelle Trotman-Norman,

MPS, ATR, PMH-C

art therapist/life coach/yoga teacher

I am passionate about the healing arts and guiding people to live authentically, mindfully, and intentionally. I love helping mothers, fathers, and non-binary parents consciously create lifestyles that prioritize joy, peace, and wellness for the whole family, starting with parents. I help parents recognize and release generational trauma, self-limiting beliefs, and behavior patterns in order heal the whole family, starting with the parent. I coach families in gentle parenting techniques and guide parents in creating an optimal environment for their little ones mental health to flourish.

As an art therapist and doula, I have helped parents, children, and families overcome difficult experiences, heal from trauma, transition through birth, death, and other life events, and resolve conflict in relationships. My approach to art therapy is strength-based, trauma-informed and focuses heavily on mindfulness, community care, and radical self care. I also draw from narrative therapy to help clients release their old stories and create new ones.

My education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2006 from Kean University in New Jersey, and a Master’s degree in Art Therapy in 2010 from School of Visual Arts in New York City.  I received a certificate in Infant and Family Studies through a year-long program at Harris Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Training Institute.

I am originally from the Garden State but followed my heart to the Arizonan desert. I firmly believe in following the wisdom of our hearts as a guide toward healing and wholeness. I feel blessed to have followed my heart into a career that allows me to guide parents through the ever-changing landscape that is parenthood.
